Jill Strauss
Twenty five years ago Jill brought her brand of jazz from New York to Los Angeles. Having trained, taught and performed with Luigi’s Jazz Centre, Jill combines the classic and contemporary jazz influences of Luigi, Fosse, Robbins and Gennaro to create JillyJazz Dance Arts. Performing on the New York stage, on tour and in company, Jill brings a performance energy to each class. New York stage and tour productions include: Carousel, West Side Story, Radio City Musical Hall’s Valentine’s Day Special, Dance Dimension at Madison Square Garden, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown, Fiddler On The Roof, Who’s Afraid of Virgina Woolf? and Bye Bye Birdie. Jill is on faculty at UCLA and taught at the Crossroads School for the Arts and Sciences for 18 years teaching Upper School Dance. She created JStrauss Jazz in 1998 performing throughout southern California. Jill is commited to infusing the dance world with joy!!
Marina Blanche Munoz
Marina Blanche Munoz graduated from The American Musical and Dramatic Academy in Los Angeles in 2011. She has performed in Los Angeles in such musicals as A Chorus Line, West Side Story, Cabaret, The World Goes Round, Thoroughly Modern Millie, and Pippin. Marina has performed with the Rockettes in their New York Summer Intensive. She teaches for JillyJazz Dance Arts on the Westside, teaching JillyJazz Kids, adult classes and Workshops. Marina also teaches for the Gabriella Foundation; Everybody Dance in downtown L.A.
Lucy Nagle-Record
Has taught ballet for over 3 decades. She has danced with Houston Allegro Ballet Company, Austin Ballet Theatre and NYC’s Facets Dance Company. She has choreographed over 60 musicals and is the resident choreographer for The Burt Wood School of Performing Arts in the greater Boston area. Lucy currently teaches at Anna Cheselka Dance Center in Studio City and The Colburn School in downtown L.A.
Krystal Combs
Krystal Jasmin Combs has been performing, choreographing, directing and teaching dance to children and adult professionals across Los Angeles for over 15 years. She is an NAACP Best Choreography Award Winner(2012) along the likes of nominees Debbie Allen and Bill T. Jones. She has received Stage Scene LA awards for her choreography and performance work and was titled “Quadruple Threat of the Year”(2011) by the acclaimed Critics Group. Krystal has worked for MTV networks, and local theaters and schools, including the Morgan Wixson Theater in Santa Monica and their American Alliance for Theatre and Education award winning YES program. Krystal holds a Master of Science in Education from Mt. St. Mary’s College and she is excited to bring out the best dancer in you.
Rebecca Schroeder
Rebecca Schroeder is a recent graduate from California State University Long Beach where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies as well as her multiple subject teaching credential. She has worked in Orange County as a choreographer, working on musicals like Fame, Anything Goes, and Kiss Me Kate. She has also performed in productions like The Miracle Worker, Fiddler on the Roof, and Bye Bye Birdie. Rebecca has been dancing with Jill Strauss since 2003 and started teaching and assisting for the company in 2009. She can be seen around JillyJazz Kids or any of the Intensive Workshops helping out in the jazz, tap, ballet, and musical theater classes.
Brianna Parcel
Brianna Michelle Parcel grew up in Oregon, quickly discovering an amazing curiosity and playfulness that has incited a number of great adventures. Nothing excites Brianna more than diving into the depths of a wonderfully profound and intriguing character. Since making her way to L.A. from Portland, Brianna has starred in numerous film and video projects including feature films, web series, and television commercials that can be seen worldwide. Her passion for the craft of acting has led to the exploration of various techniques – studying at Warner Laughlin Studios, The Larry Moss Theatre, and currently, the Stuart Rogers Acting Studio. Brianna’s energy bursts from the screen, and anyone who has worked with her can attest to her unwavering magnetism. In addition to acting, Brianna studies dance with Jill Strauss at JillyJazz Dance Arts for the past 3 years. Having worked as a nanny, swim instructor, and assistant dance teacher – Brianna’s love for children has led her to instruct with JillyJazz Kids.
